We cruised in to Sydney on a lovely clear morning and are leaving in the pouring rain and fog and in between we spent many happy hours in this beautiful, clean, modern city.

photo being restoredSydney boasts the largest steel arch bridge in the world and they let you climb to the top. So we did. It was a great adventure for Bob and Brenda and me. Dale looked up as he toured the city and probably saw us like the tiny figures in this picture of other climbers that I took later. Do you see them at the very top right?

On our second day we used the Hop on Hop off bus to see the city. After the very cool street market we had lunch at the fish market. The place was buzzing! I didn’t know there were that many people in the world who liked fish! Only the first picture is lunch (for four).

photo being restoredThe Chinese Friendship garden was lovely, as all Chinese gardens seem to be, and the lizards appeared to have been trained in modeling.

photo being restoredI found the public botanical garden to be fascinating — so many plants and animals with which we aren’t familiar!

photo being restoredThe size and scope of this tree was amazing and someone has been taking excellent care of it for a long time. I found the bark below to be just beautiful.

photo being restoredI know it’s hard to see but look closely and notice all of the nests in this tree.
Directly out of the botanical garden we joined the hundreds of people who were enjoying their Opera House on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Wow, you are brave! I’m not sure I could handle the heights part.
Thanks for sharing the plants and animals photos. I would not be climbing to the top of the bridge but am enjoying your adventures. Thanks for sharing
I’m glad you (and you, Kathy) like the plants and animals. They are my favorite but I often wonder if they merit a whole picture or if anyone else cares. Thanks for saying you care!
Me too me too! I care. ????
Beautiful photos as usual, Jenni. Was it a secure surface that you walked on the bridge? I might be tempted as you all look pretty secure. I also note you are all dressing alike these days. Ha!!! Love to all of you.
Yes, it was secure — thick boards and metal stairs and we were hooked on to a cable.
I love the little things you find to photograph. The nature is amazing. Spring is popping out here What a great time of year.
So many great images, how long did it take to get to the top of the bridge? We are tired just looking at the image. Looking forward to all the stories. Fred and Karen
Actually not as long as you would think — about two hours for the whole climb and that included lots of rest breaks.
You would never, never get me up there.
