By now you have seen so many images of the Sydney Opera house I figured it would be ok to slip in B&W picture just to be different.

If you are wondering why Jenni and I are writing different entries for some of these places we visit, it is because we often sign up for different excursions. For example, no way was I going to climb the Harbor Bridge and pay for a half day of terror and pain. If on the other hand they offered bungee jumps from the top, I might have gone. Not! Call me a wimp or whatever comes to mind. I am not going up there.

We all really liked Sydney, even though we were constantly dodging showers. The temperature was comfortable. I am going to post a bunch of photos here since I assume you are more interested in pictures than words.

Right near our landing spot, Circular Quay we visited the Rocks neighborhood which was also having a street fair.

We visited the Sydney Fish Market as we have visited about every fish market we could find along the way. They are all different. Here the emphasis is not on the boats coming in or the bidding for fish, although that does happen each morning. The real attraction here is this huge food hall full of restaurants and fish sellers all mixed together and visited by shoulder to shoulder crowds of people eating fresh seafood. –expensive fresh seafood. No bargains here.

The birds here are kind of like buzzards and equally loved. They are called Ibis. They are funny to watch because although they are really adept at picking things up, they are less adept at getting it torn into small enough pieces to swallow. After lunch at the fish market we went to the Chinese garden which was really quite beautiful.

Our final day in Sydney was full bore rain! Jenni went out and got totally soaked. I ran around the ship trying to find sheltered deck positions from which to take pictures.

The speckles in the photo are heavy rain drops. As we sailed away the Chef had a sail away party on the pool deck with fresh Sydney Rock Oysters, Green Champagne and Beer to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
