Campus views

If you get up early it really is beautiful at Hippo Lakes. And if you go on an early game drive you are sure to see plenty of animals. But a hike might be my very favorite.

Our favorite ranger, Shawn, tried to see who was home under the termite mound. He didn’t get his head in far enough to find out. Probably an aardvark which we never see because they are nocturnal.

These aloe plants are quite different from ours in AZ and we enjoyed their quirky looks.

The red and dusty roads of the property were beautiful to us but hiking off the beaten path was great for those of us who hike together in AZ and WA. Shawn led us and kept the gun close just in case.

Like I said, the cactus are similar but not exactly what we have in AZ.

What a good memory that hike will be for us all!
