Every trip around the property is essentially a game drive. The animals are everywhere and just where you don’t expect them. We went to check out a neighboring property today to see if it might someday serve as additional room for Hippo Lakes guests.

photo being restoredI enjoy seeing how well the animals can hide in so little cover.

photo being restoredThe neighboring property would provide a more farm-like environment than the lakeside tents which Hippo Lakes guests use and which we moved into today. Both are lovely and so very out there in nature. Here’s our tent and some of the facilities at Hippo Lakes.

photo being restoredThe sunrise to way after dark the tent area is a lovely venue. The birds wake you up and the fire at night provides hours of fellowship with your fellow travellers. We ate many gourmet meals here at the lodge.

photo being restoredOn Sunday morning the staff and the guests gathered on the lawn for a worship service. The staff sings beautifully and though you don’t know what they are singing you know their heart is in their worship. I love the fellowship of believers from many tribes and nations!

photo being restoredOur time at Hippo Lakes was different than most as we were there on a Vision trip, learning about the ministry of Teach Every Nation, and not as Hippo Lakes guests. So we had the privilege of interacting more with the staff and the delegates from many nations. To us that is the best part of being there!
