Valparaiso to Santiago

We docked in Valparaiso this morning and promptly set out on a long bus ride to Santiago where we enjoyed the architecture and the amazing parks. This old building appears to have a new one protruding from its top.…

This old building appears to have a new one protruding from its top. That’s because it is. They kept the old facade for history’s sake and built the new structure right inside of it.

Santiago is a lovely city with the Andes in the background — when they are visible, that is, and today wasn’t one of those days.

Yes, we did eat at BK. And the mall was packed! Because Chile doesn’t have Amazon.

It’s Summer here and construction is everywhere. I imagine those workmen really like this very cool machine.

At the very upscale craft village I was most impressed with this “wire” tree make exactly like the one Dan made for me when he was about 8. Of course I like his better but this one was quite impressive for its size.
