At the highest place on the TEN property a lovely deck has been built at which we spent several mornings and evenings, eating meals and enjoying fellowship with our friends from around the world. There are 150 steps down to a rugged path through the bush and a beautiful plaque of Psalm 8 which we read every time as we thanked God for who he is and for the amazing creation he made for us.

The four of us hiked down to the road watching out every minute for the cape buffalo — along with the crocodiles, the most dangerous of the animals on the property.

A couple of times per week we went to nearby game parks which had different animals. There is never a guarantee that you’ll see anything but we had a great time on this first one. The lions were wonderful to watch!

And we were glad to get to watch the crocodile and the elephants from a distance.

A highlight for many of us was the helicopter ride over TEN’s property. The pilot is a neighboring farmer — known for his barefoot piloting.

Giraffe don’t enjoy the helicopter as much as we do!

I got to look at the platform from a different angle!

Gary enjoyed his first ride but Luke was an old hand, having flown over the Chuckanut long ago.

There was never a dull moment. If we weren’t seeing the animals from the air we were seeing plenty of them with the game rangers. We were learning so much about God’s work around the world from the pastors and leaders who we talked with at every meal. We were learning more about TENs ministry. We went to bed very tired every night!
