Every Sunday there is an interdenominal Protestant service held in the Viking theater. It is hosted by the cruise director Heather Clancy. Heather’s step father is a Methodist pastor. Heather has a background of working with him on sermon preparation following the lectionary calendar. The service consists of recital of creeds, responsive readings, Lord’s prayer, two hymns and a sermon based on the lectionary text for the week. It has been very well attended and well presented. In addition, it as been a platform for pointing people to our men’s and woman’s small studies.
The picture above was an interior shot I took in the Metropolitan Cathedral in Buenos Aires. I donated it to the ship and they used it Sunday as the stage backdrop during the church service. The pianist volunteer is from the old “Up with People” touring group. Heather lead the music. She is a professional opera singer when she is on break between cruises.
