I find it hard to believe that I haven’t written since Hawaii! The sea days speed by with lots to do but not much that’s photo-worthy so I’ll give you what I have and you’ll just have to imagine the rest. We attend some lectures, do the wash, enjoy elaborate meal events, have our Bible studies, do some puzzling, meet and visit with new friends, read a lot, etc.

I thought you’d like to see a slightly larger room than ours. Just 3 feet additional width makes a huge difference.

So, we anchored in the lagoon at Bora Bora and enjoyed the “most beautiful island in the world”. Not. We took a ride completely around the island and found it to be less than beautiful. The water is a gorgeous color and the very expensive resorts on an outlying island are lovely to be sure, but the main island is not well maintained and, of course, the continual rain makes it hard to keep up with the vegetation in one’s yard and everything is muddy.
I enjoyed seeing how they dyed fabric and made designs with stencils which only needed 10 minutes in the intense sunlight to imprint.

The fruits and flowers always interest me so I’ll throw some in for you. I didn’t catch the name of this one on a tree.

Only on Bora Bora are they still permitted to bury their family on their own property and we saw many graves like this one and sometimes multiple graves in a small yard.

The mainland had a few hotels like this one but many were closed and falling apart.
And, so, around the island we go.

I don’t know if the fan here is a joke or what!

Their white sand beaches are made out of ground up coral and you can almost see the process happening.

Moorea is a lesser known island but I liked it better. Tomorrow Tahiti.
