Like most African nations Senegal is composed of many people groups and religions. According to our guide, who was Muslim, they all get along amazingly well and live together in peace. As you can see from these pictures some people have adopted Western and modern ways and some have not. I found the people in the village that we visited to be delightful and wished I could have communicated with them. French is the official language of Senegal and long ago I knew some but, alas, the village spoke Wolof. The gentlemen above were our guides in the village. The man in green was the chief and he did appear to be in charge!
