Koh Samui is the second largest island in Thailand, and known for resorts and spas and lovely beaches. We didn’t see any of these. My tour went to a Buddhist temple, a “sculpture” (made of cement and ugly) garden and a coconut “plantation” (grew no coconuts but processed some by hand) and Dale’s was similar, only I went in an open Jeep and he went in bus with AC. It was HOT and HUMID! We were not impressed at all with this island except that it was a tad better maintained than the previous places. I’ll give you a glimpse of what I saw as we rode through the towns and then show you the beautiful things I saw — the natural things. And I’ll throw in an”electricity” picture just for consistency.

There were more cars here and the mopeds mostly kept to their lane on the side. Gas was readily available on the sidewalk.

We got a glimpse of a beach and some impressive rocks and I liked these roots which seemed to have a plan of their own.

I enjoy seeing the tools which have been developed to deal with the coconuts and this man was a master of removing the outer husk quickly. They made various candies with the coconut milk and sugar but as I watched this woman package them by hand all desire to try one left me.

Our driver gave each of us one of his grasshopper creations and I am impressed with his talent but the real beauties are the things God created; here are the ones I saw today and I hope they will do as your impression of Koh Samui.

The sun is setting now as we cruse toward Singapore and Dale and I are going to a restaurant by ourselves tonight for a change.

not as crowded in many of the photos as I imaged it might be; also loved the way the roots grow around and between the rocks!
