Greenwich / London

So, here we are in the Thames at Greenwich for our last night of the cruise. We intended to spend the day at the British Museum but apparently Uber is on strike or some such thing so we couldn’t get a ride. We walked around Greenwich and I tried to take a few pictures just for local flavor. Some flavors wouldn’t be my choice…

Then we toured The Queen’s House which is between the Old Royal Naval College and the National Maritime Museum with a great view in both directions.

The Queen could even see the city were she to come here, but it’s for the public now, not the Queen. I walked up the hill to the Royal Naval Observatory and got this nice view.

The observatory is of course on the prime meridian and the old standards of measurement are there. In the Queen’s House the Tulip staircase is lovely as is the Armada portrait in its just restored splendor.

Outside was the largest ship in a bottle that I have ever seen and nearby was Dale observing the observatory.

The porch of the Queen’s House fascinates me and each time we come we try to capture it in a different way. Wouldn’t you like to have a porch like this?

I’ve gotta run! Suitcases are due outside the room in an hour and we’re not packed.
